Switching booking software: a website checklist

A checklist for bounce house and party rental companies moving to new booking software: protect your Google rankings, update links and keep bookings flowing.

Updated ยท Booked & Bouncing

Short answer

When a party rental company switches booking software, the website needs new booking links or embeds, redirects from old product URLs, updated city and category pages, and a check of every button and form. Planning the website change with the software change keeps rankings and bookings from dropping.

Before you switch

  • List every page on your current site that ranks in Google or gets traffic
  • Export your product list, photos and descriptions
  • Note every place your site links to booking: buttons, menus, emails, Google Business Profile

During the switch

  • Point booking buttons to the new software's calendar, cart or embeds
  • Set up 301 redirects from old product and category URLs to the new ones
  • Style the new booking pages to match your site where the software allows it
  • Update your Google Business Profile booking link

After launch

  • Place a test booking on a phone
  • Check Google Search Console for errors
  • Watch inquiries for two weeks to make sure nothing broke
